Gregg Becker has been working with companies across Western Canada for the past 25 years, including larger corporations such as TELUS, Shepherds Care and BC Hydro, but specializing in small to medium sized enterprises. Over the past 15 years, he has focused primarily on private companies ranging from $10-$500M in annual revenues, and have spanned sectors including manufacturing, broadcasting, professional services, construction, telecommunications and health care.
A common theme in the organizations Mr. Becker has assisted has been that they have been at a turning point in their history. This may mean under-performing the market, or in some cases, in full on turnaround situations. His usual role is in an operating capacity, leading from within the company (COO, General Manager), and improving the operations of the business. However, his background also includes executive leadership roles (CEO, VP, Executive Director), and consulting.
Managing the intersection of strategy and business operations is his deep passion. His skills have helped numerous companies achieve increased market share, smoother operations, vastly better results and improved profitability as he leads teams that move organizations quickly ahead in the marketplace. His background also includes mergers, acquisitions and divestitures for companies in transition.
In the past 10 years, Mr. Becker has worked extensively in the area of boards and organizational governance. He is a certified member of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) in Canada, and has helped many organizations set up or strengthen their board function. Mr. Becker currently sits on several boards (for profit and non-profit), serving as Vice-Chair, board and committee member.
