Equipment & Logistics Coordinator - Edmonton, AB

Magna IV Engineering has an exciting opportunity for an Equipment & Logistics Coordinator in our Edmonton region. Reporting to the Warehouse Team Leader, the Equipment & Logistics Coordinator will be accountable for synchronizing equipment deliverables for Canadian field service operations. This position works very closely and collaboratively with peers including, Field Service Technicians, Engineers, Electronic Service Department Assistants and other key stakeholders; ; ultimately ensuring exceptional client service is provided internally and externally.


The successful candidate will be responsible for the following areas:

·         Inventory and maintain company owned or rented equipment

·         Arrange rental test equipment from vendors and complete all necessary electronic documentation

·         Gather and prepare electrical test equipment and tools for shipment to project sites

·         Coordinate scheduling and delivery of electrical test equipment required by field operations

·         Load and unload electrical equipment from vehicles

·         Perform data entry to maintain equipment and vehicle operational information in the applicable software program.  

·         Coordinate the fleet of vehicles; specifically coordinating scheduling, maintenance appointments, mileage logs, rental vehicles, and other fleet duties

·         Inspect, clean and test electrical tools and equipment for defects

·         Inspect, clean and maintain fleet exterior and interior as required

·         Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the tool crib, warehouse and vehicles to ensure a safe and productive workplace

·         Restock service kits and project consumable PPE bins

·         Develop and maintain outside vendor and service provider relationships

·         Accept responsibility for the safe care and storage of goods and materials designated to depart or consigned to arrive at the facility for various reasons and departments.

·         Inspect outgoing items against shipping instructions and manifests to verify addresses, counts and payment terms are correct. Analyze items and damage risk to select appropriate packaging

·         Prepare all necessary labels and documents for outbound shipments including tracking waybills

·         Arrange for carriers to collect shipments based upon transportation mode, carrier, routes, rates within the approved vendor database and electronically document outbound records

·         Interact with couriers and carriers to accept packages and consignments after inspection for damages. Record receiving and/or damages for inbound shipments including internal written and electronic tracking

·         Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on physical capabilities of facility

·         Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouse. Quarantine and determine the reason for incoming goods and notify relevant department or individual to advise of arrival and disposition.  

·         Contact carriers or consignors to resolve any discrepancies or damage to shipments

·         Operate forklift as required and maintain shipping materials, supplies and tools

·         Provide reporting to Warehouse Team Leader as requested

·         Assist with other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications/Skills Required

·         3-5 years of experience as a fleet/equipment coordinator/scheduler

·         Ability to lift items up to 50 pounds

·         Professional team player with excellent communication skills both written and verbal

·         Excellent time management skills with a strong attention to detail

·         Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision

·         Customer service experience

·         Exceptional organizational skills

·         Exceptional computer skills

·         Must be able to work in a dynamic work environment

·         Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends when required

·         Able and willing to work outdoors as required and handle the physical demands of the job

·         A positive, “can-do” attitude and client focused approach

·         Proven safety-first orientation

·         Valid driver’s license and Forklift Safety Certification required (training can be provided)

·         WHMIS, TDG and Overhead Crane training would be an asset

·         Knowledge of electrical equipment is an asset
