Partnering to Present Electrical Code Update Training

Magna IV Engineering and the Alberta Electrical League Partner to Present Electrical Code Update Training

Magna IV Engineering, a Canadian-based electrical services company, along with the Non-Profit Alberta Electrical League (AEL), are now offering training on the recently updated Canadian Electrical Code.

In the wake of Alberta's legislation of the 2015 Canadian Electrical Code (January 2016), Magna IV Engineering and AEL are ready to deliver update training for electrical professionals in Alberta. Magna IV Engineering hopes to bring a fresh new perspective to the classroom, by virtue of the company's 34 years of electrical experience; and, since the Alberta Electrical League is always looking for ways to raise the public profile of the electrical industry, this partnership is a natural fit.

"We aim to dramatically enhance the quality of this kind of training, going beyond classroom instruction to incorporate hands-on, practical knowledge",

says primary instructor, David Mansfield, himself a Certified Engineering Technologist, Power Systems and Master Electrician, and Safety Codes Officer with over 40-years' of industry experience.

"We'll not only teach what's new in the code book, but how to use it; and we'll take on your questions in an interactive atmosphere",

Mansfield adds.

Updated editions to the Canadian Electrical Code are published every three years. Master Electricians, Safety Codes Officers and Electrical Inspectors work hard to stay on top of changes and are mandated to undergo periodic training. However, revisions to the code impact a large sphere of professionals, including Electrical Engineers and Technologists. Magna IV Engineering is looking to leverage the strength of its electrical experts to raise the bar for code training in the industry, and to make the content highly accessible to a wider audience throughout the province of Alberta, nearly at cost.

One-day training sessions will be held in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Grande Prairie and Fort McMurray, for $130 +GST per person, discounted to $95 +GST for AEL Members.
