The Peñasquito Polymetallic Mine is located in the state of Zacatecas in central Mexico. The mine is owned by Goldcorp, a Canadian-owned company and Mexico’s largest producer of gold.
As part of the mine’s operation, waste material is broken down by a cone crusher and transported by several conveyors to a stacking site. There are 3 conveyors controlled by wound rotor motors and 1 downhill, regenerative conveyor controlled by VFDs.
The stacker is manually controlled by an operator. A track-based tripper car follows the stacker automatically.
