The Las Bambas mine Peru is expected to produce 400,000 tonnes of copper annually when fully operationally in 2017. One discharge conveyor and two overland conveyors transfer crushed ore from the mine to the concentrator stock pile 5.3km away. The conveying system has a designed capacity of 9,400 mtph and utilizes the latest in conveyor driving technology. Each overland conveyor is driven by two low speed 4.4MW synchronous motors controlled by Cyclo-Converter Speed Drives.
