Upon review by a local inspector, an existing vehicle fueling area was found to be without Area Classification drawings. Magna IV Engineering was retained to develop Area Classification drawings for the area. Upon further investigation, large tanks of Propane, Sodium Chloride and Wellflux were noted and included in the Area Classification analysis.
To determine the required Area Classification using the Zone systems of Classification for an existing facility which was used to dispense gasoline, diesel and store propane fuels. Special attention was required for a bermed area for containment of non-flammable liquids. Under fluke conditions, a propane leak outside the bermed area could accumulate inside the bermed area.
