St. Albert Pump Station, Electrical & Controls Engineering

Overview

The St. Albert Pumpstation has been designed to collect wastewater flows from the City of St. Albert and Sturgeon County. These flows are then pumped, via 3-present and 2-future 720 HP pumps, to the Alberta Capital Region Wastewater Commission (ACRWC) regional treatment plant near Fort Saskatchewan. To support the Pumpstation load in the event of an electrical utility outage the Pumpstation has been designed with 1-present and 1-future 2 MVA diesel standby generators.

Magna IV Engineering provided design services for the facility’s entire electrical, instrumentation and control systems, including generator sizing and technical specifications. Magna worked closely with the project design team and generator vendors to develop a practical solution meeting the facility’s requirements.
