Medium Voltage Transformer Upgraded Replacement

Overview

WinSport is a not-for-profit organization that owns and operates Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Alberta. This park includes Paskapoo Ski Hill, and was a host facility for the 1988 Olympic Winter Games. It remains in use today as a world class facility for high performance athletic training and public recreation. 

In 2020, WinSport engaged Magna IV Engineering to perform a 1MVA transformer upgraded replacement to feed more of their snow blowing machines and facility lighting.

  • Sizing calculations for the transformer, cable, and fuses

  • Procurement of transformer and required accessories

  • Sizing and procurement of precast concrete pad

  • Proctor compaction testing of soil beneath concrete

  • pad and transformer

  • Delivery and mounting of new transformer, concrete

  • Termination and tie-in to existing cable and ground

  • Electrical acceptance testing of the oil-filled
